You move.
Everyday.
And you move probably 100x more than almost everybody.
That fact alone emphasises how important carbohydrates are.
Because carbs?
Fuel your activities.
Optimise your training.
And it’s not just that.
Carbs also help in building, growing, and maintaining your muscles,
which is the goal of physique training.
And physique training? Is glucose-dependent.
It relies a lot on glucose (aka carbs) as its fuel source for muscle contraction.
So technically, as you train for
More reps
Shorter rest periods
Higher training volume
Larger muscle groups
You need to eat more carbs to maximise your performance.
Because if the goal is to build muscle,
you have to stimulate as many muscle fibres as you can.
And if you want these fibres to keep working the way they should throughout your training session, you need glucose topped correctly.
So the bottomline is:
Your training and nutrition should match.
Just like any other food groups, carbs and food, in general, are there to support you on your body composition, high-performance training, and physique goal.
In fact, as you build your capacity to train.
You also need to build your capacity for food.
And that can be a tricky balance for many.
So if you’ve been working really hard and you’re thinking maybe your nutrition isn’t quite matching your effort - it’s possible you need some tweaks in that area.
